I am a software engineer who is interested in robotics, computer vision, and AI. I self taught myself C++ at 14 years old through introductory programming books. I scored my first internship with a local engineering firm the following summer. I stayed at that company throughout high school and all of university, balancing fulltime school and fulltime work near the end. I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Communication in 2021. Throughout my career and schooling, I've paid particular interest to robotics and autonomous driving technology. I am the third oldest of 11 children, and the tallest Burtell. On my free time I like to garden, read, bike, camp, and play video games.

This project was written during my freshman year of undergrad with the help of Professor Ovidiu Calin. This project aims to be an interface in which students can design and modify neural networks while visualizing the current state of the network's output. This project was spoken about at Eastern Michigan University's inaugural machine learning conference in 2018. This project gave me experience in Windows WPL, C#, concurrent development, and MVVM.
